December 22, 2001. Merry XMAS To All !!!
Welcome To My Country CD is mastered.
Working on the artwork now.
Should have it done and manufactured by mid January 2002.

Also getting band together for February Tour 2002.
So far tour goes to Holland and Germany.
5 gigs in Germany, hoping we can get some more.
Still lookingfor a label to put out the record over there.

Playing around Boston. Saturday, Dec. 15th at The Midway Cafe with both
The Peasants and Beefy DC was a great time.

Place was packed and well lubricated.
Got sick from sweat and subzero temps.

Wednesday played at
The Abbey Lounge with The Peasants, Sticky and Cash Monies.
Sticky has a great 10 song record called Sticky.

BEEFY doing a show Jan 4th at O'Brien's with Sugabomb,
Meat Depressed and Providence Riots!!!

Welcome To My Country,
the new record by The Peasants, is all recorded and mixed.
We will master it Dec 12th in New Jersey and then begin sending it
around to some labels.

Alot of people want to hear this record so
hopefully one of them will put it out. Guus is working hard on the
February tour and so far it looks like there are 18 shows booked or
close to booked.

This record sounds like the best thing I have ever done
and I can't wait for you to hear it. It's got punk, rock, rockabilly and
a mellow song. A typical Peasant record.

Now that the record is done, The Peasants will start
playing shows around New England and getting
ready to go back to Europe.

Keep smilin'!!!

NEW RECORD

New songs sound incredible. Steve Hart on drums and Billy Close on bass.
Hard to miss with that lineup. Same as Out On The Street. Going in to
record November 11th. New record will include some old standards and a
bunch of new ones. It will have 12 or 13 songs depending on how much
money we have.

Bassist Dylan Roy left the band for musical reasons last week. One of
the sweetest, most easygoing guys I've ever worked with, he did a fine
job on 3 European tours he will be missed.

No Peasant shows until after this record is completed so I've been
playing guitar with Beefy DC (the Mightiest AC/DC Cover band in the USA)
as 100% Pure Angus. Black shorts and Gibson SG. We have a great gig
coming up in Boston this Friday at Bill's Bar, Lansdowne St. with
ROCKBOTTOM, a 70s cover band made up of members from legendary Boston
bands like: The Bags, The Titanics, The Cavedogs etc...so it's always a
super rock onslaught. The Beefy set includes Highway to Hell, Whole
Lotta Rosie, Beating Around The Bush, Dirty Deeds, Problem Child...all
the classic Bon Scot stuff. Beefy got a good writeup this week in The
Noise. Not bad for a cover band.

On the business side, I've sent out about 10 pkgs to various labels
around the planet to see if anyone will put out this next record. So far
we got a favorable response from ICON RECORDS in Australia. We're
looking for a record label to put this record out in Europe to coincide
with the next tour of Holland, Germany, etc. in February 2002. Any
ideas, friends, contacts, pls email to us here.

New record will begin with a few fast upbeat punk rock songs, a cover of
the Mats' Goddamn Job, one adolescent acoustic rant, a bunch of huge
guitar rock and our classic end of show slash and burn anthem
Girlfriend. Something for everyone. Title seems to be welcome to my
country. Stay tuned...

Peace, Pete, Peasant

Wednesday Night Where Are They Now Update?!?!?!

Working on songs for new record.

Playing Friday night with Beefy DC
at SCIZZORFIGHT Record Release Party in Boston.

Contacting record labels who might be interested in
putting out this new record.

Darwin Records went out of business due to personal reasons which is fine but now we have no label to put this record out. We will do it the old fashionedway and keep all proceeds if we have no choice but to do the job right it will require a label. Sent 6 pkgs out to US, UK, Sweden, Australia,Germany and Denmark today. Hope one of them picks us up.
Want to focus on songs, not business right now.

More later.
Peace,
Pete/Peasants

In Amsterdam airport, taking off for USA today.
Last night, last show of 14. Out in the farm country.
Club owner almost cancelled.
We kicked their asses with rockabilly and AC/DC.
The farmers like to rock so we got along just great.

Sat nite cancelled so we caught Sonic Boom Boys in
Pijnacker and saw all our friends at The Trucker once again,
esp. Sidekick Bob, the might punks of Pijnacker.
The Boom Boys put on a great show too so hopefully
we'll play with them in Feb when we come back
to push the new record and break into Germany and
Scandinavia and whatever else is around here.

We love Holland. Been good to us.
Glad to be going home but sure I'll be itching to be back
out on the road in a few days. That's always the way it feels.
Anyway, thanks to everyone who came out for us and thanks to
Guus, Marco, Sandra, Shorty, Angel, Ed, Daisy, Janeke,
The Riplets, Sidekick, Wisegus, fuckin all you people
whose names I can't pronounce...peace, The Peasants.

Played at a student squat in Rotterdam called Poortgebouw with a band called Wiseguys last night.
All their friends and family showed up and it was a real warm crowd.

Student squats are abandoned buildings that are taken over by students and turned into a cooperative housing type thing.
The Gov't doesn't mind because the students keep the building from becoming a haven for drugs or illegal prostitution.

We played first then The Wiseguys. They are four piece Garage in the finest tradition. Lot's of screaming and distortion. We offered to hook them up in Boston and Providence if they ever decide to make the trek over the pond. Good bunch. They have great fans too.

We have 3 more shows and then try to go back home to the US. Delta Airlines has resumed some flights but dunno where we stand. Watching CNN images of destruction all day feels sooo weird esp. from Europe. Bought a paper today but it's all pretty much the same shit you hear on TV.

Nothing else to write. Everything is trite after the Twin Towers crumble. Lennon was right. Love is the answer. Hate is easy and the moron will always go that way. If we chose Love in the first place this never would've happened. God help everybody. God, Allah, Ozzie, Lucifer, whatever.

Sorry to everyone who has been waiting for an update.
This site is out of commission from time to time but
we are working on it and thank you for your patience.

Just saw a plane slam into a Twin Tower for the hundredth time today.
Feels like Desert Storm all over again with CNN as the host
but this time the country that is blowing up is the USA.

We have 4 shows left over here and then we will try to fly back to Boston.
Apparently Boston isn't the greatest place to catch a flight.
Might get rerouted into some poor bastard's cubicle.

God help everyone who lost someone in this mess.
And God help us because we have
George FUCKIN Shithead alias The Shrub to lead us out.

Who did it?? Let's see we've been funding murder in
Iraq, Palestine, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Cuba, Mexico, Chile, Brazil, Vietnam...
for decades. Is it such a big surprise that somebody
finally turned around and gave it right back to us???
The biggest surprise is that it took this long.

As far as the shows over here go, they are going great.
Suburban Records showed up last night to see us play at
The Musicon in The Hague. They were really nice.
I think they were psyched that we don't suck.
We've never had distribution so we are very psyched to tour
AND have our records in all the stores next to all the other corporate shit.

We played Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri and Saturday night.
All good shows. Drummer Marco continues to get better with each show.
Audience varies, merch trickles out. We make short money but
we don't really care at this point just as long as we are playing
every night and doing good shows.

We rented a 6 seater this tour so nobody has to lie down
in the back of the van with the equipment and hide from the cops
cuz it's illegal to travel down there.

Arrived in Holland Aug 29th. Neck cracked on guitar again. When will I learn not to put the fucking thing down in the cargo. Thank god for Superglue. I've cracked the neck 4 times already so I guess I'll be doing the repairs now too.

First show!! Friday Aug 31st!! Alphen on the Rhine.
Small club, sort of like playing at your neighborhood bar to middle aged people who like blues. But this is Holland and everyone is really cool so we played loud and fast and nobody left. Rock Palace in The Hague lent me a shitty 80s metal guitar for free. Thanks guys!! It sucked but it got us thru the night. Then a guy at the bar went home and got his stratocaster and gave it to me to use the rest of the tour. And the guy was pretty sober too. Nice people here in Holland.

Marco Hartmann did a hell of a job on the drums. A Dutch guy we met our first time over and a big fan, Marco stepped up to the plate to do this tour with us after only one rehearsal. Big Kiss fan. Fits right in. Pretty amazing actually how quickly he is learning how to rock with us.

Second show!!! Saturday. Pijnacker. The Trucker is a community operated club that has bands. Awesome place!!! Our second time there. SOLD OUT!! Over 160 people in this little place. Slamming, crowd surfing, beers flying. Dylan ran over behind me at one point and I heard a huge sploomph!!! Knew I wouldn't stop laughing if I turned around so I just kept playing. Folks at Pijnacker really love to rock. Alot of friends there from previous two tours. Sidekick Bob, who are from Pijnacker, set up the stage and ran the sound. Hell of a job.

Some guy from Lowell, MA. showed up. Said he saw The Peasants 4 years ago at Smithwicks and saw a flyer that we were playing in Pijnacker. Don't know what he's doing in Holland but it was cool he came to the show.

Sunday Afternoon at The Confusion, a tiny punk bar in The Hague with Sidekick Bob and The Riplets. Everyone rocked though the place was sweltering and the PA kind've blows. It's actually the best sounding shitty PA I've ever heard. Weird.

Today we're off. Hangin' out with Ed and Daisy. Ed is making another Peasant website for Europe. We'll keep you posted:
